The Berner Group is managed by an Executive Board, consisting of three members, which is successfully promoting the transformation of our entire corporate group.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Christian Berner, born in 1984, took over as CEO of the Berner Group in 2012 after having been appointed to the Supervisory Board in 2011. The graduate economist launched the transformation of the Group to make it a customer-oriented and digitalised company. He is responsible for Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Corporate Communications, Human Resources International and Change Management and is also the spokesman for the Group Executive Board. 

CIO Christoph Möltgen

Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Christoph Möltgen, born in 1967, is CIO of the Berner Group and manages the operative business of the Caramba Group. In addition to the Group's IT infrastructure, his area of responsibility includes all customer- and supplier-related as well as departmental IT applications and basic IT systems. He is also responsible for e-commerce as well as data analytics and governance. Furthermore, he is head of the transformation management department and the logistics and facility management departments. The graduate economist previously worked for the Otto Group among other companies.

COO Carsten Rumpf

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

As COO, Carsten Rumpf, born in 1963, who holds a degree in business administration, manages the entire operative business of the Berner brand and the BTI. Rumpf has already been part of our success story since 2013. As executive chairman of the Caramba Holding he was instrumental in expanding the chemicals business. Before joining us, he was responsible for the operational core business at Brady Corporation in North America.
