The BERNER Group is kicking off the second half of the financial year with one of the biggest international brand campaigns in the company's history.
New equipment shed for the Fröbel kindergarten "An St. Hildegard"
Lawn mower, shovels, rakes and the like now have a permanent place at the Fröbel Kindergarten & Family Center "An St. Hildegard" in Cologne. Before the gardening season comes to an end, the facility can look forward to a new tool shed. The BERNER Group is behind the project. The family-owned company not only donated the shed and its equipment, including wall holders for tools, but also took care of the assembly. Four employees worked hard for a whole day.
To create space for the new building, a dilapidated shed first had to be demolished. The team was then able to level the ground and build a secure foundation for the new shed using stone tiles. Once the shed had been erected, it was made weatherproof with wood varnish so that the kindergarten could enjoy the new equipment for as long as possible.
"We are delighted with the support of the BERNER Group. The new tool shed finally gives us the opportunity to store all our gardening tools safely and securely in one place," says Sabine Bendicks, head of the facility. "On behalf of the children, I would also like to say thank you, especially to the helpers who took a lot of time for the project."
Implementation during local action week
The social project took place as part of an action week organized by the municipality of Cologne, during which local companies volunteered together for the citizens of the city for the first time. However, for the BERNER Group this kind of commitment is anything but new. The idea of implementing social projects across Europe was launched in 2017 to mark the Group's 60th anniversary. Since then, more than 120 projects have taken place across Europe. What makes it special is that all projects have a long-term and sustainable impact. Whether kindergartens, schools or social clubs – the employees lend a hand wherever they are needed. The BERNER Group was awarded the "KölnEngagiert 2020" volunteering prize for its great social commitment.
